I've tested twice ER7.1 vs ER7. Reviews:
Game 1:
- ER71 has a very infortunate dark age, with a villager killed by a wolf and a few villagers blcked by their partners because lack of sheep => crowded berries
- Despite to that both ERs are 19', perhaps ER7 also had bad luck, but I doubt that so exagerated. But ER7 with a higher score
- ER7 attacks faster , attack stoped
- ER71 attacks now, also stopped
- more attacks with different results, every army is taking and losing advantage every time
- finally ER7 wins
Game 2:
Similar, but ER71 is not so unlucky and takes a clearly better castle time. Again ER7 attacks the first, more attack later, etc. Even game with no gold for anyone, I finished it after 2:43, with a too small advantage for ER71 to win.
Anyway this AI is designed to smash general AI, no other versions of itself. I haven't tested it against other AI enough to be sure about if it has become even stronger or not. The only thing that I can say is that 7 and 7.1 are both real nighmares.
Common problems:
- Mining camp bug confirmed. In late game it builds gold camps in places without any gold, I've watched their useless construction.
- Both ERs ignored two far mining camps in a border of the map, perhaps increasing max-camp-distance to FULL-MAP or something like that could correct it.
- If you don't train monks your monastery is useless. Your university and siege workshop are enough to jump to imperial.
- ERs sometimes stop eagle training despite the resources, but I imagine that it was because they were saving resources to take more upgrades, so ignore this comment.
Anyway, after to watch this AI I can understand how Hernan Cortés and his soldiers suffered to conquer Aztec Empire.
I'm sure that you still laugh a lot when you remember people from a few years ago saying that Aztecs and eagles are underpowered, convincing you to create this monster.
